To vote, nominate or win, you have to be Canadian, born in Canada or landed immigrant, or have done the bulk of your work in Canada.

Only those individuals/groups/productions that are submitted for consideration through the submission process are eligible for nomination. The exceptions to this rule are the Comedy Person of the Year Award which shall be nominated by an industry jury and voted on by the general public, and The Dave Broadfoot Award and the Chairman's Award whose recipients shall be selected by members of the Board.

In the Live Division and Film Division, the eligibility year shall be the previous calendar year. In the Television Division, the eligibility year shall be the previous TV broadcast year defined as May 1st of the previous year to April 30th of the current year.

The foundation may disqualify a submission if they do not follow the guidelines.

The $35 application fee is not refundable.
