Chairman's Award is given by the board chairman to a person who has advanced the cause of the awards and festival, or helped the comedy community in the past year or series of years, and who might otherwise not receive a Canadian Comedy Award.

The Dave Broadfoot Award was created by Roger Abbott and Don Ferguson from Royal Canadian Air Farce in 2006 as an annual celebration of comic genius in honour of Canadian funnyman Dave Broadfoot. Roger and Don choose the recipient who receives the award and $2,500. This award has been given to Mike McDonald, Russell Peters, Jeremy Hotz and Mary Walsh.
