Best Stand-Up Newcomer is awarded to a stand-up comedian who has a maximum of 3 years experience performing as a stand-up comedian. Stand-up comedians may only be nominated once in this category.

Best Male Stand-Up is awarded to a male stand up comedian who has performed 25 sets of 40 minutes or more in the previous calendar year. In addition, a minimum number of five sets must have been performed in Canada. Winners of the Award are eligible for nomination the following year.

Best Female Stand-Up is awarded to a female stand-up comedian who has performed 25 sets of 40 minutes or more in the previous calendar year. In addition, a minimum number of five sets must have been performed in Canada. Winners of the Award are eligible for nomination the following year.

Best Comedic Play or Revue is awarded to an original comedic play or comedy revue produced during the previous calendar year. The comedic play or revue must have been performed by a cast of at least two artists and at least 5 times in the calendar year, each time with the same script/running order and billed under the same play/revue title.

Best Sketch Troupe is awarded to a sketch troupe who has performed a minimum of 12 sets of 30 minutes or more during the previous calendar year, each time billed under the same troupe name.

Best One Person Show is awarded to an original show performed by a solo performer at least 5 times in the previous calendar year, each time with the same script and each time billed under the same show title.

Best Male Improviser is awarded to an individual male improviser who has performed in a live improv show a minimum of 15 times during the previous calendar year.

Best Female Improviser is awarded to an individual female improviser who has performed in a live improv show a minimum of 15 times during the previous calendar year.

Best Improv Troupe is awarded to an improv troupe who has performed a minimum of 12 live improv sets of 30 minutes or more during the previous calendar year, each time billed under the same troupe name.
