Submissions
- I noticed that to register as a member you have to be endorsed by two other members, how can I find a list of members to see whom I know?
We are not permitted to publish or give away such information. We suggest you ask those people you know within the community - for example, if you take or have taken any courses at Second City or the comedy program at Humber College, it's a good bet any of your instructors are members of the comedy association.
- I registered as a union member to vote before but now I'm listed as Comedy Association; am I in the Comedy Association now for some reason?
Yes. Union association is only used in a voter's first year of voting. For any consecutive years as a voter, they are associated with the Comedy Association so that we do not have to continually send their info to their union for validation.
- For the best web clip category, do people submit the clips in the same manner as the other categories?
Yes. All clips are submitted in the same format - either on DVD or MiniDV tape - so that the clip that is shown on the voting website is of the highest possible quality.
- Can you submit more than one nomination?
Yes. You can submit any number of nominations you wish but each is considered a separate submission with a separate form and fee.
- How do you want me to edit my video submission?
You don't need to edit it, just copy it and send in the copy with your submission (DO NOT SEND YOUR ORIGINAL AS IT WILL NOT BE RETURNED TO YOU). And on the application, indicate your start and end timecode for the 15 minute sequence your want the voting committee to view and, should it be selected as a nominee, the start and end timecode for the 2 minute sequence you want voters to be able to view on the website.
- If I am submitting from one product to multiple categories, do I need to submit a separate DVD/MiniDV for each category?
No. If you are submitting to multiple categories from a single product, you only need to include one DVD or MiniDV. Be sure to indicate what the various 15-minute start and end timecodes are for judging within each category to which you are submitting and, should you be nominated, the various 2-minute start and end timecodes for industry voting.
